William ‘Bill’ Edward Saurette, aged 82, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 20, 1941, Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness and easy ways. Bill is survived by his wife, Cheryl Ann; his sons, Patrick (Doris) and Nathan; his stepchildren, Jeff and Janelle; and his cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Allie, Theodore, Ethan, Chloe, Roan, and Malcolm. He was proud of his enduring relationships with his ex-wives, Donna Mae and Betty, who remained dear to him throughout his life.
Bill spent his life collecting stories and memories of joyful times, colourful antics, and the many wonderful friends he made over the years. His career was spent supporting others as a barber and later as a no-pressure real estate agent. He was always quick with a smile and a kind word, enjoying opportunities to attend FolkFest and Fringe and to support his community as a Northeast (Edmonton) Rotarian. In his later years, he liked nothing better than a good gab, a fine meal, a hearty laugh, a spirited game of cards, and time to putter in the garden. Bill’s warmth and humour will be missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life event will take place at Bellevue Hall (7308 112 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5B 0E3) on Tuesday, November 26, at 1:30 PM; a luncheon will follow.
