Simon Gervais Ridge, 70, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2024. Simon was born on January, 18th, 1954, to Alan and Geraldine in London, England.
Simon was a devoted husband who adored his wife, Wendy for over half a century. Father to Christopher (Nikki) and Andrew (Alyssa); Grandfather to Alyse, Aila, Pierce, and Lauren. Survived by his mother, Geraldine; and his brother, Timothy.
Simon’s passions included model trains, listening to Blues music while reading a good book, and supporting organized labour in Alberta. Simon was a proud member of the IAMAW Union for over 30 years.
In respect of Simon’s wishes, a private celebration of life was held with immediate family after his passing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Alberta Division (https://mscanada.donorportal.ca/Donation/Donation).

Just found out Simon passed. What a great guy. I came in as a young apprentice under him and loved his stories and banter back and forth. Always had a coffee Monday morning ready to regale the crew with stories of the band that weekend at the commie. Late condolences Wendy.
