Joseph Robert (Bobby) Arthur Rodgers was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He left this world suddenly on October 17th 2022 at the age of 65. We know in our hearts he is with his family in the heavens now.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 10 years, Lisa; sons, Christopher (Valentina) and Anthony (Christina); daughter, Samy-jo (Fig); step-daughters, Marie-Eve (Jonathan) Chase, Jennifer (Andrew) Dominowski, and Suzy (Nick) Storozuk; brother, Stephen (Carol); sisters, Fay, and Sharon (Craig) Campbell; grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Robert was born in Sept-Iles, Quebec to Richard and Mary Rodgers, the baby of the family affectionately known as Bobby.
Even over the years being apart from family and moving to Alberta, Robert had a close relationship with all. Robert was a social butterfly and a bona fide conversationalist. He loved being involved in other people’s lives; whether it was a friendly hello on the street or on the road in the truck calling family just to see how their day went. He used to marvel at the initial shock of his confident interaction with a stranger and he would say “how can you call it a neighborhood if you don’t know your neighbor?” He always had a passionate opinion and became our glorified soap box preacher, and the crazy glue that held our family together. Robert’s humor was infectious, witty, spontaneous and dynamic, all traits that continue to grow through his children, which is a true blessing in hard times. Loyal Jets fan, lover of ice cream, singer and dancer by the fire, and going to see a movie with his ‘video girl’ was a perfect treat for him and viewers alike. His love for Lisa was always evident; they were soulmates forever. His passions were to see his children thrive and be happy; to work hard and become successful in their own rites of passage. Robert was always empathetic towards others and willing to sacrifice to keep them safe. He always aspired to be a true warrior for God, to give himself completely in patience and forgiveness. His battle began upon diagnosis and ended with his final breath. He was victorious as he is at peace now.
A Visitation and prayer will be held at 11am to 12pm on Thursday October 27th, at Capital City Crematorium, 11010-120th Street, Edmonton, Alberta. Please join us for lunch after at a chosen location. Our family encourages bringing mementos, cards or letters that will be placed on top of the casket and then put inside to commemorate Robert’s journey on Friday October 28th.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Cancer Clinic, Capital City Crematorium and Save on Foods Pharmacy. Your caring and support for Robert will always be remembered.
Until We Meet Again
We think about you always,
We talk about you still.
You have never been forgotten,
and you never will.
We hold you close within our hearts
and there you will remain.
To walk and guide us through our lives,
until we meet again.
