It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ralph Thomas Locke of Edmonton, Alberta on March.14, 2020, at the age of 64 years. He will be lovingly remembered by Kathy Locke; his two sons, Steven (Monika) and Darryl (Rachelle); grandchildren, Jonas and Dominik; brother, Robert (Dorothy); sister, Shirley Kalke; brother in law, John Zendran, as well as numerous relatives and many close friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bobby Locke and Jim Locke; sister, Doreen Zendran; parents, Robert and Kathleen Locke; as well as his great friend Bill Grimstead.
Ralph was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and spent his life calling it home. He spent many of his early years framing houses and always had a huge passion for woodworking throughout his life. Ralph spent most of his working career with Vallen/Century Sales & Service, in the oilfield hub of Nisku/Leduc where he made many friendships that were forever in his heart. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He never wanted a funeral service but just a time for family and friends to get together, share stories, and celebrate his life. An event will take place this summer for his 65th birthday in August and details will be sent out to everyone. We would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and staff at the UofA Hospital for everything and you will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Uncle Ralph,
You will be missed by me and my family. I enjoyed growing up with you. Since your were only 4 years older than me you were more like a brother to me than my uncle. I will miss your laughter and sense of humour.
I always enjoyed your visits to the acreage to raid the gardens of my “weird” vegetables.
Shirley Kalke says

Deepest sympathies to your families. You don’t know me but I knew him well through Randy Ganz. I’m Randy’s brothers-in-law and saw Ralph every time I came to Edmonton and many times when he came to Vancouver for the Molson Indy. Many great times with this awesome man. He will be missed and again sorry for your loss.

Ralph, I have many great memories with you, like singing to Bryan Adams songs, how you liked to watch sci, and how much the boys and us friends would drive you nuts. I can vividly remember you laughing at me and my silliness and shaking your head. Can’t wait to see you again in heaven cause you owe me a dance 🙂

I think about Ralph Thomas and miss him every day.
I remember the day I took that picture of Ralph.
We loved going to parks and would often sit on Bill’s bench together, where he would talk about what meant the most to him, his cherished family, his friends, his enjoyment and appreciation for life. He worked hard and played harder and left us all way too soon.
My deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to Ralph’s family. Gone but never ever forgotten. Joanne
