It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Quincey Hardwicke-Brown on Saturday, May 21, 2022, of a heart attack.
Quincey was born in Edmonton on June 4, 1965 and grew up on a farm “lite” around Sherwood Park. Having graduated Archbishop Jordan High, he then attended the University of Alberta before launching a career as a serial entrepreneur. He started a variety of small businesses over the years. As he was naturally outgoing and genuinely interested in people, it was the obvious path. His ultimate goal was corporate dominance through “HB-7, Inc”. Notwithstanding, he still had so much time for friends, especially his best friend, Max.
Quincey’s life was highlighted by optimism and a positive attitude toward everything he undertook and everybody he interacted with. He was selfless and generous, occasionally to a fault. He always had a smile on his face, no matter what adversity he happened to be facing, and he never hesitated to help others. To have spent time with Quincey is to have laughed with him, usually uproariously.
Quincey was enormously proud of and is survived by his children, Charlie, Max, Eloise, and Quinn; siblings, Jonathan (Gillian), Adam (Colleen), Mungo (Barb), Justin (Barb), Pollyanna (Rod); numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many, friends. Quincey was predeceased by his parents, Jon and Danny; sister, Jane; and infant nephew, John-Paul.
Friends and business associates are invited to join the family in a Celebration of Quincey’s Life to be held at the Derrick Golf and Winter Club in Edmonton – 3500 119 Street NW on Monday June 13, 2022 from 12 to 2 pm.

I was a business colleague of Quince’s from his early day at Colorfast and it was very saddening to learn of his much too early passing. At one of the first post-business meetings in a large group, Quincey kept standing then sitting and it took a few times before I realized he did this every time a female joined the group, he would stand upon their arrival and sit after they sat. I knew no better gentleman and still don’t. I must also acknowledge his contagious smile, while I never met his children, I can only imagine how they enjoyed seeing his constant smile.
My condolences to all who Quincey brought laughter and happiness to their life.

Though I only knew Quincey for a short amount of time, his enthusiasm for his work and his driven attitude to make things happen has left an imprint on me. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends, and to those who were fortunate enough to have been around his bright and positive energy more than I was.

We were devastated to hear of Quincey’s passing. He was much loved.
His energy was contagious. His love was known by all. His service was top-class. We will miss him dearly and pray for peace for his family. Max, it was delightful to have you and your dad for supper those few times. Thank you for sharing your dad with us. He was a great man, as you will be, too.

Words cannot express how saddened I am to learn of Quincey’s passing. I have memories of joyful antics from U of A, and of visits when I was in Edmonton from time to time. He was so original, so upbeat, so funny and yes, a gentleman. God, Quince, we’re going to miss you.
XOXO

I had the pleasure of working with Quincey over the past 15 months and although I work with hundreds of people, Quincey or “Q” as I would often call him, quickly became one of my favourite people, not just in business but in life.
The genuine empathy, care and consideration that he would show me in every conversation we had paired with his infectious energy and positivity would always make our interactions the highlight of my day. And inversely, his passing has left a giant hole in my heart where my fondness for him lived. I will never forget Quincey. My heart and deepest condolences go out to his family and dear friends who knew him for far longer than I did and whose sorrow must be even harder to bear that mine. Take care, my friend!

Quincy was one of the first people I met when i started working with PMA Canada a long time ago – he was welcoming, helpful and always a laugh. Like everyone has said, he will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to Quincey’s family and children and all of the Harwicke-Brown family that I have had the pleasure to know from a very young boy growing up in Sherwood Park (Forest). like everyone in this large family, Quincey was very unique and eccentric in many great & special ways.
I loved to go to the old Family House and acreage/farm as it was just the coolest place ever to go and hang out and play games and play hockey on the back pond and parties when we were older. Quincey was one of a kind, a charmer, a decent goal tender lol, so funny and kind and a childhood friend that I will never forget.
I remember how close he and Mathew Ashton were as teenagers and had a friendship that was eternal.
I am so saddened to hear this news as Quincey was so full of life and way to young.
I will remember his big smile and wish for many found memories surrounded with peace and love to all his family and dear friends.
