With broken hearts and much love, we said goodbye to our dear Peter on November 2, 2023. He was a
wonderful and loving husband, dad, didi, brother, and friend.
Peter Shulko, formerly from Andrew Alberta, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 in Edmonton,
Alberta with his son Ken by his side. He was born on March 16, 1934.
A life well lived is a precious gift and Peter shared this gift with us everyday. He filled our lives with love,
laughter, contentment, excitement, and so much more. Peter left us a legacy of love, joy, and pride;
living and lasting memories we will forever treasure.
Peter profoundly loved his family and had a passion for farming. Peter, and his wife Christine, started
their life together on the farm in Andrew and lived a hard-working but happy life. They raised three
children, Barry, Ken, and Cindy, and celebrated 62 years of marriage. Peter enjoyed loving his
grandchildren, Tyler, Brayden, and Shaylene; and he held a special place in his heart for Roland.
In retirement, Peter took pride keeping his yard in top shape, and loved snoozing outside on warm
summer days, playing cards, visiting with family, neighbors, and friends; and winning a bingo or two.
Peter would always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was a fun-loving man and even in
his final days he would still joke or make a witty comment and smile.
Fly high my dear, we miss you! Save us a place next to you. No matter where we go or what we do, we
will never not remember you!
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Manchikanti, as well as Anita, Peter’s
caregivers, nurses, recreational staff, therapists, and dining room staff at Devonshire Care Centre for
their exceptional care and compassion. Each one of you made him smile. A special thank you to Ron for
being Peter’s buddy and always making him laugh.
At Peter’s request, a service will not be held. If you would like to join us and celebrate Peter’s life, please
light a candle for him.
