It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Don Widynowski on July 5th 2024, at the age of 74. March 27, 1924 - June 28, 2024Aunt Jane was one of 11 children of Frank and Helen Ogonoski, who were immigrants from Ukraine and Poland, respectively. Two of the children died young, but Jane grew up with her 6 sisters, and 3 brothers. First on a farm in Uncas, and later in Edmonton. At the age of 20 she helped care for wounded soldiers at what is now Government House, and this sparked an interest in nursing.
