It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the passing of Merrill Lynda Knowles (nee Craig) on December 3 2021
Unique and courageous Merrill will be missed by many but none more than her beloved sons, Ryan (Carly Folk) and Tyler (Danielle Modersohn). Sharing in their grief are her mother, Elizabeth Craig; sister, Alana (Kevin) Grant, mother in law, Patricia Knowles; and sister in law, Leann Knowles. Along with nephews and niece, Logan, Cole, Dylan, Sarah, Noah and Jacob; dear friend, Patrick Walsh; and many special cousins and extended family.
Merrill was predeceased by her loving husband of 20 years, Todd; father, Scott; father in law, Jerry; and several cherished relatives.
Merrill’s joy for life means she has left behind many incredible friends she had met through childhood, racing, cheer, the motorcycle community, and work who will no doubt miss her laugh, selflessness, kind spirit and determination.
Nothing surpassed Merrill’s love for her boys and how proud she was of the things she was able to see them accomplish. Her desire to do and try many things has left behind a tapestry of fond memories for all those who have been blessed to know her.
The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Basi and the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers the family would ask you to consider a donation made in memory to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 710, 10123-99 Street, Edmonton, AB T5J 3H1, 1-866-412-4222, albertacancer.ca/in-memory

Merrill was so special to me even though we did not hang out a lot. I learned so much from their entire family. I learned from Merrill that when life hands you lemons you make lemonade. No matter what life throws at you, you gotta get out there and get er done. From riding motorcycles to working on race cars with the boys and everything else in between Merrill did it all without conviction. I will also never forget her smile and laugh. When Merrill smiled you couldn’t help but smile along with her. I will never forget you. My love and condolences are with the family and if there is anything I can do I will get er done.

Knowing you was a privilege! I felt like we connected in a unique way and I am grateful for that. I hate you had to go through so many challenges in your life, you didn’t deserve that! Ryan and Tyler are the legacy you and Todd have left as a beautiful gift to this world. May you find peace where you are. You have a loving family who will do right by you two. We miss you and Todd so much. It feels like last week you were both at my mum’s celebration of life. I spoke at your wedding and loved you two very much. You helped make MY wedding magical. You were one of a kind. And so was Todd. It was really cool seeing how the two of you lived and loved as your family grew to 4 and beyond. Your boys are doing very well; you’d be so proud! You are on my mind and in my heart very often. I really hope that wherever you are you are at peace and with your Todd.
Love,
Kirsten (cousin-in-law)
