Our mom, wife, auntie, daughter, sister and friend, Lynda Oberg, passed away peacefully on April 22nd, 2023 at the age of 64. She is survived by her husband, Floyd Oberg; her daughter, Meaghan Reist (and family Jared, Nathanial and Charlotte); her son, Stefan Oberg (and family Danielle and Holden); her mother, Jean Kumar; and her siblings, in-laws, and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Lynda was a picture of perfection. “You look good you feel good” was her life motto, Lynda was always put together and ready to tackle the world. Although her time on earth saw many health struggles, Lynda never let them hinder her zest for life. Her smile was the brightest, her laugh the most contagious, and her love the deepest.
Lynda dedicated her life to others. Her work at Manulife, the Royal Bank, the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Chinook’s Edge School Division, Fort McMurray Public School Division and finally as a baby rocker in the NICU at the Grey Nuns Hospital were roles she held and excelled at professionally; however, her true passions and gifts were as wife, mother, confidante and mentor to family and friends. All calls for advice were made to Lynda. All secrets were kept by Lynda. All hard days were fought with Lynda by our side. Her lessons were rooted in treating others the way we wish to be treated, and she lived this practice daily.
Our Lyndie was a force. Positive, progressive, and pretty in pink, Lyndie had an impact on everyone she met. No one was a stranger to Lynda, everyone was a friend. Our lives will not be the same without her, but they will always be better because we were with her. She will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date by the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Grey Nuns Hospital NICU or ICU in her name.
