Dear Carleen,
I was very sorry to read of Jack’s passing. It sounds as if his last years were very difficult due to his suffering from dementia. Mom had dementia so I have some idea of what you went through dealing with this. It is a terrible disease and I hope you can find some comfort knowing that his suffering is now over. Jean and I were saying how both of us for some reason were just thinking of you the other day, she too was sorry to hear the sad news. Sending our sympathies and love, Sincerely, Tony and Pat Fields
Bill MacDonald says
Dear Vrdolak Family:
I am very saddened to know that your husband, father and other family relative has died. While I only knew Jack as ‘Jack the Barber’, I was privileged to visit with him for my haircuts from the mid-1970s until he retired several years ago. That must have been over 30 years that I visited. So I would only know a little about him, given that we would only be talking while I was at the shop. I knew that he drove into the city, and that he was proud of his cars. I still think of him when I get my hair cut, and I have gone through a succession of barbers since he retired to finally find one who can cut my hair as well as Jack did. I do miss him. Having lost my father-in-law, a great-aunt and my dearest aunt, and other acquaintances and friends to dementia, I will be making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in Jack’s memory. May he rest in peace. Sincerely, Bill MacDonald
