Mr. Robert (Bob) Hubert of West Baptiste Lake, Alberta, formerly of Edmonton Alberta, passed away at the U of A Hospital in Edmonton on November 13th , 2023 at the age of 84 years.
He leaves behind his sons, Bob C. Hubert (and Elaine) of Red Deer, and Todd C. Hubert (and Grace) of Edmonton; his sister, Dororthy Hubert of Red Deer; his brothers, Roy Hubert (and Betty) of Enderby BC, and Hank Hubert (and Jay) of Red Deer; his grandchildren, Rachelle (Justin), Danielle, Matthew, and Stephanie; and two great-grandchildren, Melanie and Katie Dunbar.
Bob was born in Edmonton, AB and was raised and lived in Edmonton for most of his life. At a young age he began employment with the CNR in the late 1950’s, and use to do transport runs for the CNR between Edmonton and Jasper, Alberta. After living in Jasper a few years and getting married to Dianne in 1959, they moved back to Edmonton, bought a small house on 163 rd street, and he began working for Palm Dairies as a Milk deliveryman. In the late 1960’s Bob switched employment and eventually took over his Dad’s Painting and Decorating business in Edmonton and worked in this occupation until the early 1990’s. After a short period of retirement, Bob worked as a Maintenance Specialist in Edmonton from 1995 to 2000 before retiring with Dianne at their lake front cottage on Baptiste Lake.
Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, and tinkering and fixing things, and he enjoyed spending time with family on vacations, which included snow-bird trips down to Arizona and Mexico with Dianne and friends.
Bob was a gifted and genuine handyman, and a jack of all trades. Over the years we watched our Dad build or fix almost anything and everything that was broken or in need repair. In 1979- 80 we watched him build our Cottage at the lake almost entirely on his own (with a little help from us, and Grandpa Zack – lol). He was always there to help us fix or build something, and he was always there when we needed him. Bob loved music, animals, his work, and watching a good hockey game or a good movie with family or friends.
Bob and Dianne enjoyed their last years together at their cottage, and over the last 6 months he especially enjoyed travelling around Alberta to spend time with family.
A Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home and Celebration Centre in Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, November 24th, 2023.

25 Jesus said…. I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even
though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die…..

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has
given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade…
