Gloria passed much sooner than expected, but completely on her own terms, in hospital, due to Pulmonary Fibrosis and a bout with Covid last spring. A committed health and fitness enthusiast, Gloria faced her illness with her customary strength and tenacity. An extremely involved and loving Mom to Karen (Ken), Walter (aka Sonny), Dawn (Kelly) and Roland; and grandmother to Alexander, Mackenzie, Kristofer, Joshua, and Liam.
Gloria was also a fierce Mother Hen to her many younger siblings. Gloria never met a stranger who didn’t become a friend and so leaves behind many cherished friends as well.
Gloria is predeceased by her husband, Wally; father, Peter; mother, Betty; sister, Pat; and brothers, Peter and Melford.
A lifelong learner, Gloria is undoubtedly right now reveling in all the mysteries of the universe. A favourite quote was ‘We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.’
She is missed.

I met Gloria when her mom was admitted to the Youville wing of the General Hospital. Her mom quickly became a favorite patient of mine and I was very impressed by the loving care that her family doted on her. Somebody was always there to visit, help and love on her. Gloria and I became friends because of our like interests and we maintained our friendship all these years since. We had a special connection that was uncanny at times…even finishing each others thoughts and we had a united interest in politics south of the border. She would be so happy to hear about recent events in that regard. I miss her a great deal and extend my most sincere condolences to her family.
