Dorothy Tupper of Sherwood Park, Alberta passed away on May 14, 2024, at the age of 98 ½. She will be missed dearly.
Dorothy came into this world on November 27, 1925, and was the third child of eight children born to Josephine and Francis “Frank” Arsenault of Summerside, P.E.I.
This is where she met Murray Tupper after the war and became his loving wife on September 1, 1945. They were married for 60 years until his death.
She gave birth to two daughters, Linda Mary on May 10, 1946, and Lucille Annetta on November 27, 1947. She spent most of her life on the move with her husband and children as Murray was in the air force. After Murray retired, they moved back to Summerside, P.E.I. to spend their remaining years. Eventually, when Dorothy could no longer be on her own, she moved to Sherwood Park, Alberta, to be with her daughter, Lucille.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Murray (February 21, 2006); and her daughter, Linda (September 16, 2011). Also predeceased by brothers, Frank, Ray, and Ernest; and sisters, Olga Lentz and Alvina.
She is survived by her daughter, Lucille (Maurice) Chartier; 8 grandchildren: Sherri (Rob) Riopel, Rick (Katie) Groff, Michele (Mark) Chartier, Jean-Paul Chartier, Anthony (Jozephine) Chartier, Jennifer, Sarah, and Jonathan Tupper; son-in-law, Hardy Korgaard; as well as 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Windsor (Astrid); 1 sister, Helen; 3 sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Many precious memories have been made with all these generations, as well as with other relatives and friends. She will forever be loved and never forgotten.
Always dressed to the nines, not a hair out of place, she was well known for her hospitality, caregiving, humor, singing, and skits, as well as dancing the best jive ever with Murray. She was always welcoming, whether for a short or long visit.
A life well lived!
Our family would like to give the doctors and nursing staff at the University of Alberta hospital, Unit 5F3, a big thank you for the loving care they provided Dorothy in her last days.

I was so sorry to hear of my Aunt Dorothy’s passing. I have many fond memories of times spent with her, my mom Olga, and all the rest of the wonderful, fun loving Arsenault clan.
I’m so sad I will miss seeing her, and dear Aunt Alvina, one last time, when I come to visit with some of my family in just a few weeks.

Memories of you Mom, I wish I could have seen you in your last few years.
You accepted me as I was, supported me in all my mistakes.
I was difficult to raise, confused, moody anxious, and you did your best with what you knew to give me guidance in my young life.
