On her 64th birthday, Denise shed her physical body and departed this earthly realm, freeing herself from the pain and suffering of advanced lung cancer as well as other ailments, with her daughter, Michelle and son-in-law, Charles by her side, lovingly guiding her home towards the light, to rest in peace and bliss at last.
Not only will Denise be fondly remembered for her exceptional skill at and contagious passion for teaching yoga, having been one of the pioneers in popularizing Hatha Yoga in Edmonton, but also she will be remembered for her creative and magical spirit, as a highly advanced meditator as well as a gifted automatic writer, poet and artist during her healthy, youthful days.
A great inspiration to many, but most of all her daughter who has followed in her unconventional, entrepreneurial footsteps, Denise was an incredibly kind, caring, empathetic, wise, creative, strong and inspiring woman, not to mention an extraordinarily encouraging, supportive and loving mother.
Although she accomplished many impressive feats throughout her lifetime, Denise always said being a mother was her greatest pride and joy, and this was evident by the way she raised Michelle and by the rare and special bond the two of them shared together.
Survived by her daughter, son-in-law, mother, Ivy, brother, Brian and other family members and friends, Denise has gone on to join her father, Joseph in the afterlife.
She will be missed dearly by all who had the good fortune and honour of knowing her as well as being touched by her beautiful, radiant heart.
A private Celebration of Life will be held for Denise at a later date to pay homage to the exquisite human being she was and the remarkable legacy she left behind.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends. I grew up across the street from Denise. She was my best friend through elementary. May she rest in peace.

Condolences to family and friends. Denise was an amazing yoga teacher. I saw her meticulous notes on teaching yoga. She had the most beautiful handwriting.

The Beauty of her Being! She was an advanced soul. Could say so much more. She needed more protection in that regard as some others of us do too – the rarer, sensitive Ones. So glad to have met her where we both lived – a destined friendship (I let her know that). Teachers to the others inevitably. The BEST to Denise and Michelle, her daughter – they are gifted to provide such profound benefits in this seemingly less than satisfactory world now or for afterwards delivering what they can in their special ways !!!! The Special Ones. What missions!? I think I resonate with them too! Miss our friendship so much Denise!!! I hope this platform is still current to send this message no matter wherever we are all at – another reminder for the truth, whether in this frequency or another!!!! Wendy
Love you too much !!!! Still wish there were more chances to say that, but I’m so glad you understand our temporary difference in realities for that very thing
Will chat with you later on the other side!
You’re okay and understood!!! We do the best we can.
Wenderful (as per Denise)
