On September 14th, our treasured Mom and Grandma passed away peacefully at the age of 81 and has been reunited with her beloved husband, David forever. She was predeceased by her parents, Hyacinth and Thomas; sisters, Margaret, Mary and Audrey; brothers, Barry and Gordon; as well as special friends and pets she loved throughout her life.
She will be forever missed and never forgotten by daughters, Kathleen and son-in-law Sam from Powell River, Susan and son-in-law Robert from Edmonton; along with granddaughters, Bailey (Jace), Amanda and Taylor; and great granddaughter, Rowyn. She will be remembered by brothers, Mitch and Monty (Lori) from Ontario; sister, Ruth from British Columbia; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Velma was a generous and caring soul who was quick to smile and share a kind word with others. She loved her family unconditionally and her genuine happiness during our times together could always be felt. We were blessed to have her in our life.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 22 at 1 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church in St Albert (75 Poirier Ave) with a private interment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories.

Please accept our our deepest sympathy to you and your family Sue and Robert and Katleen and Sam. Your mother was such a bright light, always warm, kind and welcoming to us all. She was always smiling, and happy to be with her family, knitting and sharing her famous dish cloths. We will never forget her, or her wonderful ways, it was a blessing to get to know her. Thinking of you all ♥️
