It is with profound sadness that the family of Micheal Graschuk announces his sudden passing on December 23, 2021, at the age of 32 years.
Mike will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Gordon and Jenine Graschuk; sister, Melody; brother, Jordon (Coral) Graschuk; grandmother, Mary Jane Graschuk; aunts and uncles, Judy Graschuk (Harry), Peter Bidwell (Heidi), Leanne Bidwell (Darin), and Patrick Bidwell (Lisa); cousins, Stefan, Shelby, and Evan; and his fraternal brothers at Delta Upsilon, as well as numerous friends who always wanted the best for him. He was predeceased by his Nona, Jeninna Bidwell; and grandfathers, Harry Graschuk and Peter Bidwell.
Mike was born several weeks early and had many health challenges in his first couple years. Despite that, he learned to speak in full sentences at 18 months and to read starting at 24 months. Throughout his life, Misha was many things: a gifted academic, championship debater, snowboarder, car enthusiast, baseballer and a polyglot.
Mike was a lost soul in his final years and despite his family’s love and support, we could not save him. We take some solace in knowing he is at peace and rest.
“I’ll love you forever.
I’ll like you for always.
As long as I’m living,
My baby you’ll be.”
In light of the ongoing pandemic, a private Celebration of Life and scattering of ashes will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Micheal’s name to Our House Addiction Recovery Centre, 22210 Stony Plain Rd, Edmonton AB T5S 2C3.
