Leonard was born in Fort St. John, January 6, 1963. At the age of 8, he and his family moved to Fort Nelson. While going to school, he worked with his dad in their plumbing and heating company which took him on many adventures into the oil patch. He spent some time driving truck and working in the maintenance camps and along the Alaska Highway. He had a passion for driving and that became his career. He worked for different fuel companies hauling fuel and that just added more adventures! In 1995, he married the love of his life, Brenda and gained a son, Michael. In 1994, they had their second son, Benjamin. After years on the road, he decided to become a commercial transport mechanic which allowed him to spend more time at home with his family. In 2002, they moved to Grande Prairie, where they made a new home and many more new friends. Leonard was an avid motorbike enthusiast and was out with his friends every chance he got. His greatest memories was with his good friends when they went to Sturgis for the 75th anniversary in 2015. He and Brenda loved travelling and every trip was a special memory. They spent many great times camping with so many friends and that was a passion for him too! For many years, he was involved with the Elks Club, holding every position possible. Wherever he went, he made friends and they are still friends to this day. He may not have been in constant contact with them, be he always spoke of them and shared a story of each and everyone.
Leonard was predeceased by his father, Ben Leer, and leaves to morn his wife, Brenda, their sons Michael and Ben, his mother Vi, brother’s Bo (Michelle), Ray (Diane) and Punk/Allan (Lauralei) and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
