With profound sadness in our hearts and loving memories in our thoughts, the family of Sean Killoran regretfully informs of his passing at his home in Edmonton, Alberta.
Sean’s life is remembered by his son, Dillon; brothers and sisters, Judy, Dennis, Sharon, Michael, Kathy, and Chris and will be dearly missed. Also left behind are the outlaws (his siblings spouses) close friends Lynne, Angie, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, service mates, friends, co-workers, ball team, pool players, and recent friends who all have special memories of Sean.
Sean was an Air Force brat from Cold Lake and had a long line of brats in front of him but ditched that life when he was five and moved to Edmonton. Sean couldn’t wait to finish school and join the Navy, so he started early as a cadet. It was a definite high point of his life onboard the destroyer HMCS Mackenzie identifying incoming fighter aircraft on radar, along with all the memories and stories of his time and friends in service, and the birth of his son Dillon.
After his career in the Navy, Sean was diagnosed with acute bilateral Ménière’s disease. As a disabled Royal Canadian Navy Veteran, Sean moved back to Edmonton, started in the furniture business, and progressed to build his own company in Calgary, Sean’s Furniture Repair. He achieved great things while enduring disabling conditions.
Sean was fun loving and loved people. He loved to play, sing, and had a quick wit. He was naturally athletic as a competitive swimmer, avid skier and golfer. Sean could dance to “Ski Ballet” when it was still part of the Olympics. He developed as a talented “Foodie” with an interest in antiques, a passion for playing pool and darts, a cat lover, and a proud Oiler’s supporter. We know he was planning more time with us all….
Sean will be laid to rest at a private family memorial and a celebration of his life will be planned for post pandemic conditions. A virtual celebration is planned for Sean starting at 6:00 PM on May 12th, 2021 with details to follow at https://fb.me/e/2pXh3ppSW . The 12th of May is International Limerick Day so if you would like to create a limerick to share, we know Sean would have been delighted and also try to one up you. Sláinte & Bon Voyage.

Sean was a great friend to Jo and me and our kids. We jokingly referred to him as our ex-nephew in law. He stayed with us for awhile til he found his own place in Calgary. We had many good times together. We will miss you Buddy.

Sean was my first senior hand upon joining the Mac. ” he was quick with a joke and a light of you’re smoke”, I had just reconnected with Sean a few months ago, and his personality has not dulled. He had a positive outlook and funny takes on life, that would have you re evaluate your perceptions. Rest in peace FRIEND!
