It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce that Dave passed peacefully on Tuesday April 6 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Charlene, son Marcello, daughter Eva, and two grandsons, Jake and Kai. He also leaves two brothers to mourn him, Tracy and Darcy (Tammy). He was predeceased by his mother Noreen in 1962, Father David “Al” in 2004, and step-mother Pat in 2016, his father-in-law Alfred in 1999, and mother-in-law Christine in 2020.
Dave loved his family, and family pets, especially dogs Casey, Polar and Biggie. He loved to travel, camp and read. He started his work life as a cook at McDonalds, and chef, working at major hotels across Canada and in Jamaica, and even on a Carnival cruise ship. His next employment was long haul truck driving until he was hurt in 2000. He did it again a few years later, but didn’t want to be away from his kids so he started driving a school bus. He worked for Briggs, R.L. Smith and Cunningham, when he retired in 2017 after receiving the congestive heart failure diagnosis. The last few years were hard on him as he wasn’t very mobile having severe osteo arthritis. If you wish to make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Dave, or any charity of your choice it would be greatly appreciated.

We had the pleasure of meeting Dave many years ago through the Lind family. He certainly loved to cook and we had the pleasure to tasting his creations.
This is very difficult time for the entire family, but we are hoping that the fun and good memories will bring you comfort.
Our deepest condolences to the family on Dave’s passing. It is such a tough period for you all. Thinking of you.
