Glenda Lynn Christensen passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on August 7, 2020 at 9:53am. Glenda was born in Calgary on October 5, 1952 and lived to be 68 years old.
Through the years Glenda’s caring nature brought comfort to the many patients she touched in her life long nursing career. She was an advocate for the residents as well as the fellow co workers she worked along side of. She was instrumental in the coordination of the AUPE Union at Millwoods Shepherds Care Centre. Glenda was a straight shooter with sharp wit and a non judgmental persona which was a gift to all those that met her.
Glenda is survived by her two children, Gael Taylor and her partner Steve Maloney. Her son, Ken Christensen and his wife Cyndi Christensen. Her grandchildren, Wade Taylor and his wife Michelle Taylor. Kolt Taylor and his partner Amanda Jaksetic. Brettlynn Taylor and her partner Nick Mcgeachy. Her great grandsons, River and Hunter Taylor. Glenda also considered Nick’s daughters Khloe and Ali to be like her own great grandchildren. Glenda was predeceased by her loving parents Ken and Olga Hutton and will be laid to rest along side of them in Calgary with her maiden name of Hutton.
In her last days, Glenda was comforted and cared for by the people she loved the most in her home. She wanted everyone to know “I don’t want to go but I have to.” Glenda will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Cremation has taken place at Capital City Cremation in Edmonton.
