With unceasing love and respect, we sadly bid farewell to George Jacob Hauk. He passed peacefully with his sons at his side in Edmonton, AB, at the age of 71. Born into a large farming family in Wilkie SK, George was one of eleven children. As a young man he came to Alberta where he eventually started a lifelong career as an ironworker and was a proud member of the Local 720. George was never one to shy away from a hard days work. He was a skilled woodworker, enjoyed gardening and selflessly did all he could to aide his family throughout his life. George will be remembered by his surviving family including his sons Randall and Steven; stepchildren Pamela, Barbara, Steven, Gail, Melanie and Eva Rae; siblings Carl, Julia, Margaret, Joyce, Linda, William and Ronald; as well as numerous grandchildren, extended family and friends. George was predeceased by his first wife Marilyn; his second wife Gale; brothers John and Edward; half-sister Katie; and his parents Phillip and Magdalena. At George’s request, no memorial service will be held. We respectfully ask that in lieu of flowers you send donations to a charity of your choice in his memory. The family wishes to thank the staff at Royal Alexandra Hospital for their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place at Capital City Cremation in Edmonton.
