It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Lucille Fitzgerald, age 60 on July 8, 2020. Born January 7, 1960 to Renee and Suzanne Viens in Edmonton, Alberta.
Marie was an extraordinary woman and did everything with a bit of sass. Marie was a phenomenal cook and loved nothing more to host a meal and relish in the company of those she loved so dearly. Marie was able to accomplish anything she set her mind to, including opening a small cafe when she was just 20 years old, becoming an accomplished seamstress creating beautiful christening gowns, attending culinary school, graduating from college with two small children, opening her own pub, and becoming a full time accountant.
Marie was kind, understanding and forgiving. Her love was endless, unwavering and a comfort to those in need.
She is survived by her husband Germain; her mother Suzann; and her siblings Bob (Lizette), Roch (Ann), Guy (Karen), Joseph (Chantel), Michelle (Wolfgang), Renée (Ken), Monique, and Judy. Predeceased by her brother Dennis (Corinne) and father Renee. Marie leaves behind her husband Germain; two daughters Gabrielle (Ashley) and Colette (Justin); and her three beautiful grandchildren.
Marie knew that life was worth living and she was driven by an energy few could fathom. Her sudden departure was a shock and a reminder to always say as many “I love yous” and give as many hugs as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations to WIN house are encouraged.
